FREE EUROPEAN MEDIA 2020

The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom is proud to take part in the 2020 edition of Free European Media conference in the Polish city of Gdansk.

Free European Media 2020

Building on the success of last year’s event, the conference welcomes speakers and policy makers from across Europe including EU Commissioner Vera Jourova and the United Nations Chair Mogens Lykketoft. ECPMF will be represented by Managing Director Lutz Kinkel, Lucie Sykorova who chairs the Supervisory Board and Mogens Blicher Bjerrgård of the Executive Board and European Federation of journalists.

Across two days, delegates will discuss the vital role of press and media freedom in democracy, addressing the issues of  journalists’ safety and impunity for those who threatenit, media pluralism and diversity and self-regulation.

The conference is held in the iconic European Solidarity Centre. It commemorates Gdansk as the birthplace of the Solidarnosc movement that led to the fall of communist rule in the 1980s.
